Built in XXIII century by Emperor Federico II of Svevia, Castel del Monte is located in the homonymous locality in Andria, in the western Murgia. It was deservedly declared UNESCO Word Heritage. Everything revolves around the number eight; indeed the plant is octagonal, there are eight facades, eight towers and eight rooms inside. Built to create symmetry of light in the days of solstice and equinox, it gives visitors a feeling of rewarding riddle.
